Hamsters Against Autocracy

The regulator Ofcom attempted to impose oversight on the platform 4chan, despite the fact that it operates outside the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom. In response, 4chan sent the regulator an image of a giant hamster.

This episode illustrates the broader importance of freedom of speech, private initiative, and the free market in the United States. These are fundamental conditions that make the existence of a free world possible—and are therefore equally important for Slovenia and its citizens. Nowhere else in the world is such a direct and effective response to attempts at regulation, or even creeping autocratization, so readily possible.
